The Haysville Optimist Club does many projects throughout the year one of which is Project Graduation. Project Graduation is a program that was developed by the parents of graduating Seniors, from Campus High School, Haysville, Kansas, wherein Seniors are locked into the Physical Education Building from 11:00 p.m. (right after the graduation ceremony) until 6:00 a.m. the next morning. Parents along with local businesses and organizations pull together to furnish food and prizes for all graduating seniors. The Haysville Optimist Club got involved early in the program and has been involved ever since. The parents and the seniors both look forward to our famous Speed Bingo games. We give away CASH, until this year green hard cash. This year we gave GOLD cash. We acquired $500.00 in the new $1.00 coins from the local bank to give away as prizes. In addition, we gave the winner of the final game a check for $100.00. The seniors seem to enjoy the evening with the Optimist Club while we help keep them off the street and out of trouble the evening after graduation.
